How Keel works
Keel is a behavioral trading coach. It reads your Bitget trade history, identifies the patterns that cost you money, and intercepts them in real time - before the order fires.
Connecting your Bitget account
Keel only needs read-only access. It cannot place, modify, or cancel orders - ever. Your API key only needs the "Read" permission enabled in Bitget.
Your API key and secret are AES-256 encrypted before being stored. They are never logged, never returned in API responses, and never transmitted to third parties. Keel's server uses them only to fetch trade data on your behalf.
Understanding bias detection
Keel scores four behavioral patterns - the ones that show up most often in retail trading losses. Each score is calculated from your personal history, not population averages. A 78% FOMO score means 78% of the entries Keel flagged as FOMO entries in your history resulted in a loss.
You enter a position within minutes of a sharp price move, chasing the momentum. Keel flags entries placed within 30 minutes of a 3%+ candle on the same pair.
You open a new position shortly after closing a loss. The emotional need to recover overrides analysis. Keel flags new entries within 15 minutes of a losing close.
You add to a position that's already down, hoping to lower your cost basis. Keel flags adds to positions already 2.5% or more in the red.
After a winning streak you size up significantly. Variance corrects, and larger positions amplify the loss. Keel flags position sizes 2.5x+ your baseline following 3+ consecutive wins.
Keel's scores get more meaningful the more trades you have. With fewer than 5 trades on file, Keel will not generate a behavioral profile - there's not enough data to distinguish signal from noise. The accuracy label on your dashboard ("Low / Medium / High confidence") reflects how much evidence backs the score.
Reading your dashboard
The four bias scores, each shown as a percentage. This is the loss rate Keel observed for that pattern in your history. Higher = the pattern reliably loses money when you do it.
A 0–100 score reflecting how consistently you respond to Keel's interventions. If you have no intervention history yet, the score stays at 0 - there's nothing to grade. The score rises as you skip bad trades and falls when you override Keel and the trade goes against you.
Your daily realized PnL for the current week, overlaid with estimated savings from accepted interventions. Green bars are profitable days; red bars are loss days. The 'saved' overlay shows money Keel estimates was protected by paused trades.
Your most recent fills from Bitget, color-coded by outcome. Trades that triggered an intervention are highlighted. Tap any row to see the full trade details and whether an intervention fired.
A hard stop you can set yourself. When your loss for the session exceeds the threshold you define, Keel locks the intervention panel and reminds you to step away. You control the threshold in Settings.
How interventions work
An intervention is a real-time alert that fires when Keel detects one of your known patterns in an active trade. It shows you exactly what you're about to repeat, your personal hit rate for this pattern, and gives you a 10-second window to reconsider.
Keel monitors your Bitget fills in real time via WebSocket. When a new fill matches one of your scored bias patterns - FOMO entry timing, re-entry after a loss, adding to a losing position, or outsized sizing after a winning streak - the intervention overlay fires.
You always have the final say. 'Don't trade' closes the overlay and logs the save. 'Override' closes the overlay, logs the override, and lets the trade proceed. Keel tracks both outcomes - if you override and the trade loses, that data updates your scores.
The countdown is there to create a pause, not to punish you. Research in behavioral finance consistently shows that a forced pause breaks the emotional autopilot. The timer defaults to 10 seconds; you can adjust it in Settings.
Before any intervention fires, you can use the checklist panel in the dashboard to manually run through your trading rules. This is optional but surfaces the same questions Keel asks internally when evaluating a trade.
Keel does not place, modify, or cancel orders. It cannot access your funds. Every action in the intervention overlay - including ignoring it entirely - is fully your decision. Keel is a mirror, not a manager.
Common questions
Not yet. Bitget is the only integration currently supported. Other exchanges may be added in the future.
Keel requires at least 5 completed trades to generate a behavioral profile. If you're below that threshold, the dashboard will show an empty state and wait until you do.
Yes. Go to Settings → Danger Zone and use the 'Delete account' option. This removes your API key, trade cache, behavioral profile, and intervention history from Keel's systems permanently.
The demo uses a synthetic trader profile to illustrate what a real account looks like. No API key is needed. The data is fictional - it doesn't represent your trades.
No. Keel is a behavioral coaching tool. Nothing it shows - scores, interventions, PnL estimates - constitutes financial advice. All trading decisions are yours.
